Thad Ellet has almost three decades of experience under his belt and specializes in service plumbing, trenchless sewer lining, and backflow prevention.

Thad started Thad Ellet Plumbing in 2008 after working for several years under the name Ellet/Cockrum Plumbing. The company has grown exponentially since then, warranting bigger equipment, more space, and a larger staff. The company has moved several times over the past five years: from Cambria, to downtown Carterville, to its present Herrin location on 16th St.

Thad’s wife Kate, a native of Harrisburg, joined the TEP team as Financial Manager in 2009.

Before becoming a plumber, Thad served his hometown of Carterville, Illinois as a firefighter. In his youth, he considered a country music singing career, and enjoys weekend trips to Nashville, Tennessee. He resides in Herrin with his wife and two sons.

Our mission is to bring quality, affordable plumbing service to Southern Illinois. Thad Ellet Plumbing strives to treat your home and business as its own. That is why our technicians wear booties over their shoes and place their tools down on mats.

Prior to making sure your pipes remain in proper working order, TEP technicians take the time to explain the nature of your problem, as well as any possible solutions. They always quote prices before performing work, and never begin work without the client’s approval.

Kate Ellet analyzes and projects the company's short and long-term financial goals and strategies.
Zach Holder has joined the TEP team to work with Ben in the shop to make sure all the guys have the parts they need and keep the supplies stocked. Zach is a very hard worker and is a great help for anyone who needs it.
Amy Doerr
Ben Davison is a 2022 graduate of Herrin High School. He joined the Thad Ellet Plumbing team soon after, training to manage the shop and equipment. Ben is a hard worker and is a great asset to our team.
Krista Kanady is the smiling face that meets you at the door and answers the phone at Thad Ellet Plumbing. She coordinates the plumbers, daily. If you call us with a question, Krista will find you an answer.
Meet The Crew

Chad Reynolds has been a plumber with Thad Ellet Plumbing for over 10 years. He is a pipelining expert. Chad excels at trouble shooting, new construction, tankless water heater installs, and operating excavating equipment.

Tim Woods is a highly motivated student in the world of plumbing. He has gained a large amount of knowledge in his 2 years at Thad Ellet Plumbing. Tim's customer service, trenchless installation, and service technician skills are outstanding.

Jackson Davis is a 2023 graduate from Herrin High School, who started out as summer help, but quickly came back after graduating to learn everything he can about plumbing.

Drake Lannom is also a 2023 graduate from Herrin High School. He too started out as summer help, but found a love for the trade and is excited to learn anything he can when on jobs with our veteran guys.

Grant Ellet along with Drake and Jackson is also a 2023 graduate from Herrin High School. Grant is the son of Thad and Kate and specializes in managing all of the social media pages, editing our website, and producing commercials for TEP. He is currently attending Southern Illinois University as a cinema major.
